Here at Kent Escapes we have a small growing selection of individual and unique properties that are available to let for short one night visits or long holiday breaks. We aim to provide comfortable, clean, well equipped and affordable places to stay for the duration of your visit. All of our Kent Escape properties are located in superb and convenient locations which are all in close proximity to some of Kent’s Finest Visitor attractions.

The space

A lovely rural retreat. Our cottage is set just off the main road in the village of Lydden. With beautiful views across the fields and downs there are lovely walks in the vicinity and the Lydden Temple Ewell nature reserve is one of Europe’s finest surviving chalk downlands ! This property is perfectly located in the village of Lydden which has good transport links, being adjacent to the main A2 trunk road connecting Dover to London and the national motorway and within easy reach of the High Speed rail route to London St Pancras station.
The City of Canterbury’s Park and Ride is only 9.5 miles away in one direction and Dover Ferry Port located 7.5 miles away in the other direction. The Channel Tunnel Terminal is also only 10 miles away and if you are a fan of Motor Sport then you have Lydden Hill race circuit 2.5 miles up the road. A Well equipped comfortable cottage with a wood burning stove and whole house electric comfort heating to create a comfortable environment. The local country pub serves amazing food and there is a small shop within walking distance. There is a bus stop located within a minutes walk away from the property and buses run to Canterbury and Dover approximately every 15 minutes throughout the day.

Guest access

The entire cottage is yours for the duration of your stay in Lydden.
A semi -detached cottage with front and rear garden. There is a driveway suitable for a medium sized vehicle. Please note however that the driveway is steep and narrow and some people can find it difficult to use. Parking is also available on the main road at the bottom of the lane and is about a 1 minute walk away from the property.
Inside you enter the front door into the lounge area with stairs leading to first floor the dining area is to the back and is open plan. Upstairs a master bedroom with double bed, drawers and hanging space, dressing table. Two further rooms at the rear overlooking the rolling fields. One being a single room with single bed and drawers and the other a little larger with a single bed and a further trundle bed ( with legs) housed under the single bed but available for guests to use with ease.

The kitchen and shower room is located at the back of the cottage on the ground floor and is accessed by way of two steps down into this area.
Both are compact which is expected from a cottage in this area and of the year built, however they do have all that you may require. The back door leads into the rear garden with steps going down.

Other things to note

Dogs are welcomed however they are the sole responsibility of the guest, we can not guarantee a secure garden for him or her to roam in. Certain ground rules apply and additional security deposit required. Please inform us if you intend to bring your pet. There is a driveway suitable for a medium sized vehicle. Please note however that the driveway is steep and narrow and some people can find it difficult to use. Parking is also available in the main road at the bottom of the lane and is about 30 second walk away from the property.
The kitchen and shower room are located at the back of the cottage on the ground floor and is accessed by way of two steps down into this area.
